Synopsis (short abstract) The Event on Fusarium Wilt TR4 and the Future of the Banana Industry, was held on Monday, 11 March 2024, at FAO Headquarters, Rome, Italy. The event included several in-depth sessions focused on various aspects of TR4 management, including prevention, preparedness, response strategies and the role of FAO in supporting countries and stakeholders. Discussions highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing, capacity building and comprehensive measures for prevention and response, and the need to strengthen international collaboration and multistakeholder initiatives. Panel discussions covered critical topics such as the status of recent TR4 outbreaks, where stakeholders from affected countries shared their experiences and strategies in managing these incursions.
