These activities, known as Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD+), are vital for global climate change efforts, as confirmed by the Paris Agreement. The Green Climate Fund (GCF) supports REDD+ initiatives to help countries combat climate change and promote prosperity. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as a certified accredited entity to the GCF, assists government counterparts in Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America in accessing GCF resources and provides technical support in proposal formulation.
