В 2020 году положение дел в области продовольственной безопасности и питания в мире, в том числе, в регионе Европы и Центральной Азии, было отмечено вспышкой COVID-19, которая привела к сбоям в работе рынков, торговли и продовольственных товаропроводящих цепочек. Пандемия отрицательно сказалась на продовольственной безопасности в регионе. Именно в этом свете в докладе предпринята попытка провести оценку того, как изменились показатели продовольственной безопасности и питания в регионе, субрегионе и в странах в связи с пандемией, и отследить прогресс региона в достижении ЦУР. Первый важный вывод заключается в том, что субрегионы (такие как Кавказ и Центральная Азия) и страны, которые находились в уязвимом положении еще до пандемии, стали еще более уязвимыми в 2020 году. Достижение устойчивости в регионе Европы и Центральной Азии зависит в основном от принятия решительных усилий в уязвимых субрегионах. Второй важный вывод заключается в том, что, хотя в 2020 году положение дел в регионе по нескольким показателям было лучше, чем в мире, для достижения целей устойчивого развития необходимо проделать еще огромную работу. -

The state of food security and nutrition in the world, including that of the Europe and Central Asia region, was marked in 2020 by the outbreak of COVID-19 and resulting disruptions to markets, trade and food supply chains. The pandemic has had a negative effect on food security in the region. It is in this light that the report seeks to assess how food security and nutrition indicators in the region, subregion and countries have changed under the shadow of the pandemic and to monitor the region’s progress towards achieving the SDGs.The first major conclusion is that the subregions (such as the Caucasus and Central Asia) and countries that were already vulnerable before the pandemic became even more so in 2020. The resilience of the Europe and Central Asia region relies mostly on the provision of solid effort in the vulnerable subregions. The second major conclusion is that, although the region was doing better than the world in 2020 in some indicators, there is still an enormous amount of work ahead to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. -

En los últimos años, diversos factores han desviado al mundo del camino hacia la erradicación del hambre, la inseguridad alimentaria y todas las formas de malnutrición para 2030, y la pandemia del COVID-19 ha exacerbado esta tendencia. América Latina y el Caribe no es una excepción. Esta edición del Panorama Regional de la Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutricional 2021: Estadísticas y Tendencias, revela un escenario sombrío para el futuro. En 2020, 59,7 millones de personas en la región padecían hambre, y entre 2019 y 2020 la prevalencia del hambre en América Latina y el Caribe aumentó en 2 puntos porcentuales. Gran parte de esto se explica por el impacto de la pandemia del COVID-19, que redujo los ingresos de millones de personas en la región. Sin embargo, esta no es la única razon, ya que las cifras de hambre en la región llevan seis años consecutivos de crecimiento. -
