It reviews the development of international prices for oilseeds, oils and meals as reflected by FAO’s price indices. In December 2023, the oilseed and vegetable oil price indices declined marginally compared to November 2023, while the oilmeal price index fell markedly. For 2023 as a whole, all three price indices declined year-on-year, with the annual average of the vegetable oil index dropping sharply by 32.7 percent and marking a three-year low. -

It reviews the development of international prices for oilseeds, oils and meals as reflected by FAO’s price indices. In February, all three FAO price indices pertaining to the oilcrops complex declined. The oilseed price index decreased by 5.2 points (4.3 percent) from the revised level of the previous month, reaching the lowest point since November 2020, while the oilmeal index shed 6.6 points (5.7 percent) month-on-month, marking a 29-month low. -

It reviews the development of international prices for oilseeds, oils and meals as reflected by FAO’s price indices. In January 2024, the FAO price indices for oilseeds and oilmeals declined month-on-month, while the vegetable oil price index remained virtually unchanged. All three price indices remained below their respective year-earlier levels, ranging from about 13 percent below its January 2023 reading for vegetable oils to as much as 25 percent for oilseeds.
