In the United States where the journal was first published, the Natural Inquirer presents research from scientists working in the United States Department of Agriculture's Forest Service. This edition of the Natural Inquirer presents the results of a worldwide effort to understand the world’s forests, organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, or FAO. The report fr om which this Natural Inquirer was created is the Global Forest Resources Assessment 2010. It contains information from 233 countries and territories around the world. This is the second edition of the World's Forests Natural Inquirer. The first was published in 2008 and was based on the Global Forest Resources Assessment 2005. -

This report provides a unique global assessment of the magnitude, the sources and pathways of emissions from different livestock production systems and supply chains. Relying on life cycle assessment, statistical analysis and scenario building, it also prov ides estimates of the sector’s mitigation potential and identifies concrete options to reduce emissions. The report is a useful resource for stakeholders from livestock producers to policy-makers, researchers and civil society representatives, which also intends to inform the public debate on the role of livestock supply chains in climate change and possible solutions.
