ABSTRACT The Farmer Field School (FFS) approach has been practised for many years in different parts of the world with considerable success. Its recent introduction to the agricultural sector of St. Lucia has been through the combined efforts of a number of players. Thanks to the Ministry of Agriculture, Land, Forestry and Fisheries (MALFF), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the European Community (EC) for recognizing the importance of the FFS approach and for collaborting on this project. This manual highlights the major activities in conducting Farmer Field Schools (FFS) for IPM in watermelons and can also be used as a guide for the conduct of FFS in other crops. |
