1. In its 28th Session in November 1995, the revised FAO Plan of Action for Women in Development (19962001) was reviewed and approved by the Conference (C 95/14 - Sup. 1 - Rev. 1). The Conference also requested that a Fifth Progress Report be prepared for its 29th Session in November 1997. This Information Note summarizes the Fifth Progress Report, which emphasises that, while the revised FAO Plan of Action has been operable only since the beginning of 1996, significant progress has already been achieved.
