Unasylva - Started in 1947 by MARCEL LELOUP, first Director of the Forestry and Forest Products Division, this quarterly publication is intended to cover a range of interests as wide as that of the Division whose work it mirrors. Signed articles express the opinions of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the Organization.
Cover photograph. Pine logs (Pinus brutia) are taken out by lighter to a ship lying off the harbor of Antalya in southern Turkey, where they are collected in a log boom before loading. Possibilities for an integrated development of the Antalya region (agriculture, forestry, industries, tourism) are now being investigated by a team of specialists under a project financed by the United Nations Special Fund for which FAO is the executing agency. Three foresters are included in the team and work in close collaboration with officers of the National Planning Board and Turkish Forest Department.
