ABSTRACT

This document presents the final report of the Seventieth session of the Executive Committee of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC) which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 23 to 25 August 2005. Major topics discussed were: progress reports on the intersessional activities of APFIC; regional response to the tsunami; regional fishery bodies in Asia-Pacific; outcomes of the trash fish and co-management workshops; and preparations for the Regional Consultative Forum Meeting and the Twenty-ninth Session of APFIC. The summary of the main recommendations/ decisions is shown in Appendix G.
