ABSTRACT

The final formal report of the Second Session of the Committee for Inland Fisheries of Africa (CIFA), Sub-Committee for the Development and Management of the Fisheries of Lake Victoria held in Rome, Italy, from 6 to 7 October 1983, is presented. Major topics were a review of the main management and development issues facing the riparian States of Lake Victoria, the proposed EEC/FAO regional project for the development and management of the fisheries of Lake Victoria and the objectives, role and functions of the Sub-Committee.
