ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Deep appreciation is due to the Ukrainian Fisheries Research Institute staff, particularly Dr. V.A. Murin, its Director, for all their assistance and cooperation. Acknowledgements are also due for the assistance of Director B.Nikulok, and his staff at the Don rib Combinat, Slaviansk; the staff of Miranovka Station; and the staff of the Leningrad Institute of Lake and River Fisheries, particularly Dr. V.S. Kirpitschnikov and Dr.O.N. Bauer.

The GKES and VNIRO officials provided all possible cooperation and the U.S.S.R. lecturers, interpreters and administrative staff and the FAO lecturers performed their duties most efficiently.

The spirit of enquiry, patience and teamwork displayed by the participants probably contributed, more than anything else, to the success of the Seminar/Study Tour.
