Synopsis (short abstract) This publication describes the activities and initiatives implemented by the elearning Academy in 2024. The year 2024 was an exceptionally productive and successful year for the FAO elearning Academy! The FAO elearning Academy has reached over 1 million professionals worldwide sinceits foundation, providing over 700 multilingual and certified courses, 95 of which were published in 2024 and offered as a global public good.In 2024, the FAO elearning Academy collected learner video testimonials. Through these, you can explore learner stories and appreciate the tangible impact of FAO’s e-learning courses on education and professional development worldwide. They are accessible through the Academy home page, with further links on pages 52–54 of this document.The FAO elearning Academy organized a series of international technical webinars in 2024 in collaboration with more than 50 partners, reaching over 2 000 participants worldwide. Itdesigned and delivered successful MOOCs and blended learning programmes and contributed to the creation of over 100 university master’s degree programmes.The FAO elearning Academy now hosts the FAO Four Betters Courses initiative, which promotes the integration of the FAO e-learning courses to enrich academic curricula and raise education standards. The aim is to better equip students and young professionals with the necessary competencies to actively contribute to the transformation of agrifood systems.

    This publication describes the activities and initiatives implemented by the eLearning Academy in 2023.The year 2023 continued to be marked by global challenges. The world had emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, but its impacts on agrifood systems were felt long afterwards. Despite these challenges, there had been a surge in the demand for e-learning worldwide, and in 2023 the numbers continued to soar.With 91 new courses added to the FAO eLearning Academy in 2023, the catalogue of possibilities is broader than ever, helping to develop capacities across the entirety of FAO's mandate, as well as competencies that are essential in our collective pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals.

    The Report for major achievements highlights the results of the e-learning team in 2019. During this year the FAO e-learning Academy has reached 600 000 learners and published more than 78 courses for member countries. The FAO e-learning Academy capacity development activities and initiatives are designed, developed and delivered in collaboration with all FAO technical divisions and across all Strategic Programmes. In addition, to date the FAO e-learning Academy has collaborated so far with more than 200 partner institutions throughout the world.

    This publication describes the work of the elearning Academy in 2020. The year 2020 marked the launch of the FAO multilingual elearning Academy new website, the adoption of a digital badges certification system and the organization of a series of successful international technical webinars with over 5 000 participants in total and in collaboration with more than 30 partners worldwide. In addition to this, 75 new elearning self-paced courses were published, reaching the number of 350 multilingual elearning courses as a result of a collaborative effort involving over 200 partners throughout the world. The courses are fully aligned with the United Nations SustainableDevelopment Goals (SDGs) and cover thematic areas such as: climate-smart agriculture, sustainable food systems and nutrition, food safety, food losses, sustainable management of natural resources, responsible governance of tenure.
