Estudio de caso – diseño de empresas de productos arboreos, forestales y de huerta para el desarollo sustentable
2001El Proyecto Integrado de Seguridad Alimentaria (IFSP) es un programa de colaboración germano-vietnamita, cuya finalidad es mejorar las condiciones de vida mínimas de los habitantes de los distritos de Tuyen Hoa y Minh Hoa de la provincia de Quang Binh en Vietnam Central. Tuyen Hoa y Minh Hoa son distritos montañosos, con un extensión relativamente alta de cobertura de bosque, por lo que la población local no puede cultivar el grano suficiente para satisfacer sus necesidades mínimas de consumo. La desnutrición y las enfermedades derivadas de una dieta insuficiente son generalizadas, y las posibilidades de aumentar la producción de alimentos básicos son limitadas. Uno de los objetivos del componente de generación de ingresos no agrícolas del IFSP era ayudar a la población local a identificar nuevas fuentes de ingresos, en especial a partir de productos arbóreos, forestales y de huerta. Esto permitiría a las familias más pobres, que carecían de tierras para el cultivo, comprar más comid a. Este estudio de caso pretende demostrar la utilización de la metodología AyDM para identificar y desarrollar empresas de productos arbóreos, forestales y de huerta de desarrollo sustentable en zonas remotas de Vietnam Central. Destaca el papel que pueden desempeñar las instituciones o las personas de ayuda, tales como los funcionarios del gobierno y el personal de proyectos no gubernamentales, en la facilitación del desarrollo de empresas de generación de ingresos por empresarios rurales. Este estudio de caso se centra en documentar los métodos y las herramientas empleadas por el equipo facilitador que llevó a cabo el proceso AyDM, siendo los resultados de la investigación, de menor importancia. -

Fase 1 - Evaluar la situación existente
2001El objetivo principal de la Fase 1 es evaluar la situación existente para identificar al grupo meta, los productos que hay y las posibles empresas. Esta fase consta de seis pasos. Los resultados que cabe esperar de esta fase son: 1) Una primera selección de productos que serán evaluados en la fase siguiente del AyDM 2) El conocimiento de las limitaciones sociales, del medio ambiente y técnicas de varios productos y 3) La formación de un equipo de miembros del grupo meta que llevará a c abo la Fase 2. Esta actividad inicial es importante para definir claramente las razones por las cuales se lleva a cabo el proceso AyDM y los resultados que se esperan del mismo. Ayudará a que los grupos interesados y demás socios participen plenamente en el proceso.

They aimed to identify the critical loss points in the selected supply chains, the key stages at which food losses occur, why they occur, the extent and impact of food losses and the economic, social and environmental implications of the food losses. Furthermore, these studies also evaluated the feasibility of potential interventions to reduce food losses and waste. -

Urbanization, agrifood systems transformation and healthy diets across the rural–urban continuum
2023This report provides an update on global progress towards the targets of ending hunger (SDG Target 2.1) and all forms of malnutrition (SDG Target 2.2) and estimates on the number of people who are unable to afford a healthy diet. Since its 2017 edition, this report has repeatedly highlighted that the intensification and interaction of conflict, climate extremes and economic slowdowns and downturns, combined with highly unaffordable nutritious foods and growing inequality, are pushing us off track to meet the SDG 2 targets. However, other important megatrends must also be factored into the analysis to fully understand the challenges and opportunities for meeting the SDG 2 targets. One such megatrend, and the focus of this year’s report, is urbanization. New evidence shows that food purchases in some countries are no longer high only among urban households but also among rural households. Consumption of highly processed foods is also increasing in peri-urban and rural areas of some countries. These changes are affecting people’s food security and nutrition in ways that differ depending on where they live across the rural–urban continuum. This timely and relevant theme is aligned with the United Nations General Assembly-endorsed New Urban Agenda, and the report provides recommendations on the policies, investments and actions needed to address the challenges of agrifood systems transformation under urbanization and to enable opportunities for ensuring access to affordable healthy diets for everyone.
