No results found.The Asia Pacific Food Price and Policy Monitor is a monthly report produced by the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. It monitors food prices in local markets and provides readers with up-to-date food and agricultural policy developments across the Asia-Pacific region. Each issue highlights the most important developments in the region and provides a regional as well as country specific overview of the food situation and food prices for the month. Each issue also contains a section on major national policy developments in the region during that month. -

No results found.APFPPM consists of two major sections, including Regional Overview and Country Overview: Regional Overview section mainly focuses on the monitoring of price changes in overall food, rice, and wheat in the region. Country Overview section covers three subsections, including Food Prices, Price Forecast, and National Policy Development. In the Food Prices sub-section, the core team of APFPPM chooses about five countries or so every month and observe the price changes in selected commodities. The Na tional Policy Development sub-section focuses on the policy changes and developments in the agriculture and food sector in the region, the team members regularly goes through numerous newspaper articles across the region, and choose and summarize the stories that are relevant to food and agriculture. In the Price Forecast sub-section, the team members choose two countries and one commodity from each chosen country and conduct small simulation for them. -

Main report
2020FAO completed its first assessment of the world’s forest resources in 1948. At that time, its major objective was to collect information on available timber supply to satisfy post-war reconstruction demand. Since then, the Global Forest Resources Assessment (FRA) has evolved into a comprehensive evaluation of forest resources and their condition, management and uses, covering all the thematic elements of sustainable forest management. This, the latest of these assessments, examines the status of, and trends in, forest resources over the period 1990–2020, drawing on the efforts of hundreds of experts worldwide. The production of FRA 2020 also involved collaboration among many partner organizations, thereby reducing the reporting burden on countries, increasing synergies among reporting processes, and improving data consistency. The results of FRA 2020 are available in several formats, including this report and an online database containing the original inputs of countries and territories as well as desk studies and regional and global analyses prepared by FAO. I invite you to use these materials to support our common journey towards a more sustainable future with forests. -
