No results found.The German Federal Foreign Office, through the Special Fund for Emergency and Rehabilitation Activities − Anticipatory Action window, contributed EUR 3million (USD 3 260 885) to the project, "Scaling-up anticipatory action to protect agricultural livelihoods and food security: Phase 2" which was implemented from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024. The project aimed to safeguard the agriculture-based livelihoods and food security of the most vulnerable populations ahead of shocks, and to reduce humanitarian needs by systematically linking risk analysis to anticipatory action in high-risk countries. -

No results found.The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany contributed EUR 27.75 million (USD 30 385 017) to the FAO project, "Livelihood response to mitigate the impacts of drought on food security and livelihoods", which was implemented from 1 February 2023 to 31 December 2023. The project aimed to provide access to food, while protecting and restoring productive livelihoods and strengthening self-resilience in drought-affected communities in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan and the Sudan. -

No results found.The Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland contributed USD 3 750 000 (GBP 3 million) to the FAO project, "FAO’s El Niño preparedness, mitigation and response programme", which was implemented from 21 August 2023 to 31 March 2024. The project aimed to provide interim measures that enabled early preparedness of communities in areas identified as high flood risk to mitigate loss of life, livelihoods and assets in Somalia. The project successfully reached 33 339 households (233 375 people) and 144 technicians through flood mitigation activities, flood defence infrastructure rehabilitation and community preparedness and response.
