No results found.This document contains the report of the Tenth Session of the Regional Commission for Fisheries (RECOFI) held in Rome, Italy, from 9 to 11 July 2019. The session was attended by 15 delegates from seven members of the Commission, namely Kingdom of Bahrain, Republic of Iraq, State of Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, State of Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates), and one intergovernmental invited organization. The Commission emphasized that both the budget and level of activities must be increased in order to act as a fully functional RFMO. RECOFI members recognized the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals and the need to collect data regarding SDG 14, which will assist in the sustainable management of fisheries resources and the economic benefit of the fisheries sector. The Commission commended the WGA and WGFM on the activities undertaken in the intersessional period and noted the outcomes of these activities. تتضمن هذه الوثيقة تقرير الدورة العاشرة للهيئة الإقليمية لمصايد الأسماك المنعقدة في روما، إيطاليا، خلال الفترة من 9 إلى 11 يوليو/ تموز 2019. حضر الدورة 15 مندوباً من سبعة أعضاء بالهيئة، هم: مملكة البحرين، جمهورية العراق، دولة الكويت، سلطنة عمان، دولة قطر، المملكة العربية السعودية والإمارات العربية المتحدة؛ بالإضافة إلى منظمة حكومية دولية تم توجيه الدعوة إليها. أبرزت الهيئة حتمية زيادة كل من الميزانية ومستوى الأنشطة للعمل كمنظمة إقليمية لإدارة مصايد الأسماك تعمل بكامل طاقتها. وأقر أعضاء الهيئة الإقليمية لمصايد الأسماك بأهمية أهداف التنمية المستدامة وضرورة جمع البيانات الخاصة بالهدف الرابع عشر من أهداف التنمية المستدامة والذي يساعد في الإدارة المستدامة لموارد مصايد الأسماك وتحقيق الفائدة الاقتصادية لقطاع المصايد السمكية. وأثنت الهيئة على الأنشطة التي تقوم بها مجموعة العمل المعنية بتربية الأحياء المائية ومجموعة العمل المعنية بإدارة مصايد الأسماك خلال الفترة ما بين الدورات وأشارت إلى نتائج تلك الأنشطة. -

No results found.In order to contribute to the sustainable development goals, capture fisheries and aquaculture sectors have been assigned important tasks to support the food security and improved nutrition and eradication of poverty through realizing blue economic growth (Sustainable growth of economies derived from marine and inland water ecosystems and living aquatic resources) with responsible and efficient use of marine and inland water and associated natural resources and conservation of marine and inland water ecosystems and aquatic biodiversity. Given the global leading position of Asian fisheries in production and direct dependence on the sector, the Asia and Pacific Region will need to take a leading role in achieving the goal considering its current share in global fish production and trends of the sectoral development in the different regions.
