Synopsis (short abstract) شاركت المنظمة بدور نشط في عملية خطة التنمية لما بعد عام 2015 ، ودعمت الدول الأعضاء وأصحاب المصلحة كافة عن طريق المساهمة بالمعرفة التقنية من الخبراء على أساس رؤية المنظمة لعالم متحرر من الجوع وسوء التغذية تسهم فيه الأغذية والزراعة في تحسين مستويات المعيشة للجميع، خاصة أفقر الفقراء، على نحو مستدام اقتصادياً واجتماعياً وبيئياً. وسوف تواصل المنظمة العمل مع جميع الدول الأعضاء والجهات الفاعلة ذات الصلة من أجل تنفيذ ورصد خطة التنمية المستدامة لعام 2030.

    إعتمدت الدول الأعضاء في الأمم المتحدة في 25 سبتمبر/أيلول خطة التنمية المستدامة لعام 2030، والتي تتضمن 17 هدفا من أهداف التنمية المستدامة و169 غاية مرتبطة بها، يلتزم من خلالها المجتع الدولي بإنهاء الفقر والجوع وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة خلال الفترة ما بين 2016 و2030. وتم تحديد إطار للمؤشرات العالمية، يتضمن 230 مؤشرا، ستة أشهر فيما بعد، يتسنى من خلاله رصد الغايات الـ 169 وتتبع التقدم المحرز، مما جعل هذا الإطار أساسا لهيكل المساءلة الخاص بأهداف التنمية المستدامة. ويمثل عدد المؤشرات، والذي يبلغ أربعة أضعاف عدد أهداف التنمية المستدامة، تحديا هائلا أمام الدول. ويمكن لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة، التي عُينت وكالة تابعة لهيئة الأمم المتحدة وصية على 21 مؤشر من مؤشرات أهداف التنمية المستدامة ووكالة مساهمة في ستة مؤشرات أخرى، مساعدة الدول في تجاوز عقبات الرصد الجديدة. يستعرض هذا المنشور عمل المنظمة لتطوير وتقوية المؤشرات التي تعنى بقياس الغذاء، الزراعة والإستعمال المستدام للموارد الطبيعية، كما يسلط الضوء على المؤشرات الـ 21 التي تقع تحت وصاية المنظمة. ويوضح هذا المنشور الطريقة التي يمكن للمنظمة من خلاله ا دعم الدول في تتبع التقدم المحرز والربط بين الرصد وصناعة السياسات من أجل تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة.

    FAO Strategy on Climate Change 2022–2031 2022

    The FAO Strategy on Climate Change 2022–2031 was endorsed by FAO Council in June 2022. This new strategy replaces the previous strategy from 2017 to better FAO's climate action with the Strategic Framework 2022-2031, and other FAO strategies that have been developed since then. The Strategy was elaborated following an inclusive process of consultation with FAO Members, FAO staff from headquarters and decentralized offices, as well as external partners. It articulates FAO's vision for agrifood systems by 2050, around three main pillars of action: at global and regional level, at country level, and at local level. The Strategy also encourages key guiding principles for action, such as science and innovation, inclusiveness, partnerships, and access to finance.

    The FAOSTAT emissions database is composed of several data domains covering the categories of the IPCC Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector of the national GHG inventory. Energy use in agriculture is additionally included as relevant to emissions from agriculture as an economic production sector under the ISIC A statistical classification, though recognizing that, in terms of IPCC, they are instead part of the Energy sector of the national GHG inventory. FAO emissions estimates are available over the period 1961–2018 for agriculture production processes from crop and livestock activities. Land use emissions and removals are generally available only for the period 1990–2019. This analytical brief focuses on overall trends over the period 2000–2018.
