ProjectProgramme / project reportSeparating mixtures of normal distributions: basic programs for Bhattacharya’s method and their applications to fish population analysis - BOBP/MAG/4 1987
Also available in:
No results found. This manual describes computer programs written in Microsoft BASIC (version 2.20B) for use on an Apple Ile micro-computer (with CP/M operating system) and EPSON RX-80 F/T printer. These programs include a modification of Bhattacharya’s method for identifying and separating normal distributions, in a mixture of distributions in length frequency data, and computation of Chi square statistics for testing goodness of fit, as described by Pauly and Caddy (1985). This package includes a pr ogram that plots the frequency distributions for several samples of data. It is useful for estimating growth parameters and calculates the catch at length for each of the mean length groups separated, and gives 95% and 99% confidence limits for each mean -

Policy briefPolicy briefBack to Basics: Field-Level Forestry. Asia-Pacific Forests and Forestry to 2020. Forest Policy Brief 02 2011
Also available in:
No results found.Institutional frameworks that fail to provide incentives to invest in forest management and a succession of high-level national and international priorities in forestry mean that field-level activities are often overlooked. The health and vitality of forests in the Asia-Pacific region and their productivity are often compromised as a result. With demands on forests increasing and climate change threatening, efforts to maintain ecosystem services and benefits from forests should focus attention o n effective management at the field level.

BookletTechnical briefTrade of agricultural commodities 2010–2023 2024
Also available in:
No results found.Trade is essential in agrifood systems, enabling the distribution of agricultural commodities worldwide. It enhances access to healthy and affordable food, playing a significant role in food security, nutrition and safety – a vital element for countries that cannot produce enough to meet their domestic demand. Trade impacts numerous economic and social factors, such as market dynamics, agricultural productivity and the diversity of its outputs, the assortment, and the quality and safety of food products, and ultimately, dietary composition. The FAOSTAT Trade data domain disseminates statistics on the international trade of food and agricultural products for the period of 1961–2023. The food and agricultural trade datasets are collected, processed and disseminated by FAO according to the standard international merchandise trade statistics methodology. This analytical brief looks at the overall trade of agricultural products, food excluding fish and the main commodity groups for the period 2010–2023. -
