As part of the Community Forestry Programme of FAO's Forestry Department a number of studies were commissioned in order to uncover existing information and to provide the basis for an objective understanding of the linkages between forestry and the food secur ity of rural people, particularly the poor and other vulnerable groups such as women. This report has been prepared as a component of the overall study by the Oxford Forestry Institute to review socio-economic aspects of the role of forestry in food production and food security, with special reference to those related to quality of life.

No results found.This document records the reéommendations of the 21st Meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Bay of Bengal Programme for Coastal Fisheries Management (BOBP). The meeting was held 12-13 February, 1997 in Bangkok, Thailand. The document also contains the annual reports of the projects that comprise the BOBP. These reports summarize the objectives of the projects and their current status; the work performed and the achievements during 1996, an evaluation of progress, and workplans for 1997. The Advisory Committee is composed of member-countries, agencies funding BOBP projects, and the FAO. The Committee meets once a year by rotation in membercountries.
