Synopsis (short abstract) The Country Programming Framework (CPF) 2024–2028 sets out four priority areas to facilitate FAO’s partnership with and support to the Government of the Gambia for transforming agrifood systems by applying innovative international best practices and global standards, along with national and regional expertise, and providing the required technical assistance. These are: (1) Strengthening resilience and capacities for disaster risk reduction and management; (2) Enhancing disaster risk reduction and management service provision for climate change adaptation and mitigation; (3) Economic empowerment of actors in agriculture and natural resources (ANR) value chains, particularly women and youth; and (4) Strengthening ANR value chains for inclusive and sustainable growth. The CPF will support the Government of the Gambia’s efforts to make agriculture more productive, resilient, and sustainable while ensuring that women and young people are empowered across the agrifood value chain. The CPF 2024–2028 has been developed taking into account major challenges identified in transforming the Gambia’s agrifood systems, government policies and priorities. This has been done through extensive consultations with national stakeholders, particularly Government line ministries, civil society, the private sector and development partners as well as relevant UN agencies, including the Rome-based Agencies. The CPF is also aligned with the FAO Strategic Framework 2022–31, as well as the Organization’s regional priorities for Africa, the Subregional Office for West Africa, and its corporate initiatives such as the Hand-in-Hand Initiative (HIHI), One Country One Priority Product (OCOP), and the Digital Village Initiative (DVI). The CPF 2024–2028 is designed as a living document and can be updated to respond to changes in government priorities and unfolding situations.

    The FAO Angola Country Programming Framework (CPF) 2024–2028 aligns with Angola’s “Angola 2050” strategy and the National Development Plan (NDP) 2023–2027. It aims to promote sustainable development and reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The CPF focuses on building a sustainable, secure, and nutrition-sensitive agrifood system by improving agricultural productivity, food security, and environmental sustainability. Key focus areas include promoting innovative farming practices, strengthening climate resilience, and ensuring the inclusion of vulnerable groups such as women, youth, and people with disabilities. The framework is structured around four strategic pillars: agrifood systems transformation; family farming, agribusiness and value chains; environmental sustainability; and disaster risk management.The CPF’s objectives include improving food security and nutrition, aligning with several SDGs, and promoting inclusive socioeconomic development, particularly for youth and women, through job creation and income generation. It also aims to enhance resilience and sustainable management by adopting climate-smart technologies and promoting the blue economy. The framework strongly emphasizes enhancing market access, implementing innovative agricultural technologies, and ensuring the fair distribution of resources and opportunities. By supporting Angola’s advancement in food security, poverty reduction, and sustainable agriculture, the CPF 2024–2028 aligns with both national and global development goals.

    The Food and Agriculture Organization in Bhutan’s Country Programming Framework 2024-2028, a strategic document that enhances the collaborative efforts between the FAO and the Royal Government of Bhutan, has set an ambitious goal of mobilizing approximately USD 83 million.Currently, FAO Bhutan has secured around USD 16 million, with an additional USD 42 million in the pipeline. Furthermore, about USD 25 million is currently under soft commitment.Aligned with FAO's thematic and technical expertise, this framework was developed through a process of inclusivity and collaboration, and it embodies the convergence of national priorities, regional imperatives, and global agenda.It reflects FAO’s commitment to support Bhutan's agriculture, livestock, food systems, environment, and climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts in alignment with the 13th Five Year Plan (FYP) and the UNSDCF (2024-2028). It encompasses the transformation of agrifood systems, sustainable natural resources management, inclusive rural transformation, and resilience building.CPF sets out four priority areas as follows:CPF Priority area 1: Sustainable agrifood systems transformation: accelerating investment, entrepreneurship, product development, and employment in high value agrifood value chains for international markets including through the sustainable use of natural resources.CPF Priority area 2: Food Security, Safety, and nutrition-sensitive and climate-smart agriculture.CPF priority area 3: Sustainable natural resources management, climate change mitigation and adaptation measures, and disaster risk management and preparedness.CPF Priority area 4: Evidence-based agrifood systems planning and programming at national and local levels.

    The Country Programming Framework (CPF) 2023–2027 sets out four priority areas to facilitate FAO’s partnership with and support to, the Government of India for transforming agrifood systems by applying innovative international best practices and global standards, along with national and regional expertise, and providing the required technical assistance. These are: 1. sustainable agricultural production,2. food and nutrition security,3. climate resilience and sustainable natural resource management and4. inclusive, gender-responsive agrifood systems governance. The CPF will support the Government of India’s efforts to double farmers’ income and make agriculture more productive, sustainable, remunerative and climate resilient. Additionally, it will support the government’s efforts to make India malnutrition-free. The CPF 2023–2027 has been developed taking into account major identified challenges in transforming India’s agrifood systems, government policies and priorities. This has been done through extensive consultations with national stakeholders, particularly government line ministries, civil society, the private sector and development partners as well as relevant UN agencies, including the Rome-based Agencies.
