Synopsis (short abstract) The East Africa subregion comprises of the continental countries of Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, United Republic of Tanzania and Uganda and the island countries of Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles. Differences in their ecological and socio-economic conditions will continue to have an impact on forests and forestry in the countries in the subregion. This report describes the long-term outlook for the development of the forest sector in East Africa, t aking account of current and emerging economic, social, institutional and technological changes.
