Synopsis (short abstract) A medium-size report that describes the overall situation of data on fuelwood in Mauritania. The report starts with a description of the consequences of a drought between 1913 and 1993 followed by an introduction of the situation in Mauritania. The following sections are a detailed description of the fuelwood geographical distribution, production, demand, supply, prices etc. as well as conflicting issues. The latter parts are an analysis of past, present and future trends of fuelwood use in the country.
