    Given its geographical location, Mozambique experiences natural hazards every year that continue to affect people’s livelihoods, particularly in rural areas, and exacerbate their vulnerabilities. For 2019, FAO is requiring USD 11 million to assist 500 000 people through timely agricultural support.

    The conflict in Yemen has escalated dramatically since mid-March 2015 and the country is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. A major food security emergency is ongoing with more than 50 percent of the population – 14.4 million people – unable to meet their daily food needs.

    In Chad, reduced livestock revenue and insecurity in neighbouring countries are some of the main factors affecting food security, while large segments of the population also remain highly vulnerable to natural hazards and other shocks, and will require livelihood support in 2018. Continued assistance is required to improve access to food and protect the livelihoods of vulnerable, food-insecure people, including refugees and returnees.
