    The photo-book draws the attention to the implementation of the “Developing Capacity for Strengthening Food Security and Nutrition in Selected Countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia” project in Tajikistan, launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and funded by the Russian Federation. The project’s key purpose in Tajikistan is to boost the effectiveness and quality of the school nutrition program through the creation of school-based plots, produce from which will be used in the cafeteria in cooking tasty and nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. This book provides the "reader" with an insight into how growing vegetables in greenhouses can benefit schools, farmers, local communities and children in Tajikistan.

    Durante los últimos años se ha producido en Guatemalaun notable y preocupante aumento de la pobreza,situándose como el país con el mayor índice dedesigualdad del mundo. Según los últimos datos un59,3 por ciento de la población se encuentra en situaciónde pobreza y un 23,4 por ciento en situación de pobrezaextrema.Como consecuencia de ello hay un elevado índice deinseguridad alimentaria y nutricional, siendo la poblaciónmás vulnerable los niños menores de cinco años.El proyecto buscó contribuir al Derecho a la Alimentaciónde las escuelas participantes del Programa Nacionalde Alimentación Escolar (PAE), promoviendo laimplementación del modelo de Escuelas SaludablesSostenibles.

    FAO School Food and Nutrition Framework 2019
    The FAO School Food and Nutrition Framework aims to support governments and institutions in developing, transforming or strengthening their school policies, programmes and other initiatives for an enhanced and synergistic impact on diets, child and adolescent nutrition, community socioeconomic development and local food systems. The Framework represents a direct response to the international call for improving nutrition along the life cycle and for transforming food systems to be conducive of better diets, in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) and the UN Decade of Action on Nutrition (2016-2025). It provides a holistic approach that capitalizes on complementary interventions and the most effective programmatic options to obtain benefits throughout the food, nutrition and education nexus, using the school setting as the center for development.
