Synopsis (short abstract) The Accelerator for Agriculture and Agroindustry Development and Innovation (3ADI+) is a joint value chain and market systems development programme, spearheaded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). 3ADI+ brings the combined capacities of local, national, regional and global actors on analysis, technical assistance, facilitating linkages, policy dialogue, and investment promotion, to develop sustainable value chains in developing countries.

    The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan (MoA) initiated the process of developing the State Programme 2022–2026 as the implementation of the State Programme of the Agro-Industrial Complex Development in Kazakhstan in 2017–2021 neared completion. According to the rules of the State Planning System of Kazakhstan, the development of the State Programme 2022¬2026 had to be preceded by the Concept of the State Programme, which required a comprehensive evaluation of the previous State Programme 2017–2021, including a socioeconomic impact assessment and cost-effectiveness analysis. It also needed to outline the goals, objectives, outcome and output indicators for the designated five-year period (2022–2026), as well as an investment plan indicating the required funds.

    This factsheet exolians the key aspects and the achieved results of the EU Fubded UN Joint STREIT Programme in Papua New Guinea, that is being implemented under the leadership of FAO, to bring about transformative, institutional changes in the cocoa agri-business value chain in the country. Developed to share the obtained knowledge, leraned lessons and best practices with policymakers and scientific institutions, this publication focuses on the vanilla value chain, summarises the general context and the challenges that were prevalent before the commencement of programme implementations, the approach taken by the Organisation to address these recognised issues on concerns, the conducted activities at different layers, from farmers to policy levels, and the running interventions in the target areas.
