No results found.In rural areas of Georgia, there are disparities in living conditions and access to essential services in comparison to urban areas. The growth of cities and the trend of out migration of rural populations, particularly youth, exacerbate these problems. There are also discrepancies between the labourconditions of men and women in rural areas of the country, because women tend to have limited access to opportunities, equipment, technology and land. This project was designed to enhance agricultural productivity, address gender disparities and improve access to services in rural areas by supporting the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture (MEPA) to implement the Strategy for Agricultural Development 2015-2020 and the Rural Development Strategy 2017-2020, both of which employ integrated approaches to rural development. -

La Stratégie 2020 de développement rural constitue une vision prospective de l’organisation et de l’action dans le domaine du développement rural, vision dont les principes sont les mêmes que ceux qui fondent le concept de « bonne gouvernance ». Tous deux partent du postulat que « le développement rural ne doit pas être le seul fait de l’Etat mais qu’il doit se fonder sur les initiatives et les projets des acteurs locaux » et que « le rôle de l’Etat dans le développement rural serait essentielle ment de créer un environnement favorable au développement, de donner des orientations, de soutenir leur mise en oeuvre par des dispositions institutionnelles, des incitations, des moyens appropriés ».
