Synopsis (short abstract) The One Country One Priority Product Initiative (OCOP) is organizing a Capacity Building Workshop on Mainstreaming Nutrition in OCOP for Healthy Diets. This 2.5-day workshop is co-organized by FAO and the Institute of Nutrition Mahidol University (INMU). The event will provide participants with innovative and technical information to promote the nutrition dimension of OCOP, within different country contexts. The tools featured in this workshop such as food composition analysis, nutrition calculations for food labelling, healthy product and recipe development will build capacity for members to increase domestic market demand for Special Agricultural Products (SAPs) through targeted nutrition initiatives and promote nutritious and healthy diets.

    This hybrid workshop, held from 17-20 March 2025, will provide technical training on food processing, safety, and product development to support the OCOP initiative. Organized by FAO RAP and Mahidol University, it includes lecture sessions open to all interested parties and hands-on training for selected in-campus participants from Cambodia, Nepal, Bhutan, and Papua New Guinea. The workshop aims to enhance value addition, improve product quality, and promote market readiness of SAP-based products through knowledge sharing and capacity building.

The workshop focused on the evaluation processes, data publishing, and repository infrastructures, emphasizing the importance of GIES for the One Country One Priority (OCOP) initiative. It included field visits to potential GIES case sites, discussions on remote sensing and satellite technology, and training workshops on GIES standards systems.
