    Международный кодекс поведения в области устойчивого использования удобрений и управления ими или Кодекс по удобрениям был разработан для повышения безопасности пищевых продуктов и безопасного использования удобрений Кодекс по удобрениям нацелен на решение проблем мирового значения и тем самым будет содействовать достижению ряда целей в области устойчивого развития (ЦУР). В целом он закладывает общую, адаптируемую к местным условиям основу и содержит набор добровольных практик в помощь различным заинтересованным сторонам, которые прямо или косвенно имеют дело с удобрениями. Ожидается, что эти стороны будут вносить свой вклад в устойчивое развитие сельского хозяйства и обеспечение продовольственной безопасности применительно к использованию питательных веществ путем соблюдения имеющихся руководящих принципов и рекомендаций и оказания содействия в их выполнении. Кодекс по удобрениям является результатом широкого и интенсивного процесса консультаций, начатого в декабре 2017 года и продолжавшегося по февраль 2019 года в соответствии с рекомендацией Комитета по сельскому хозяйству. Кодекс был окончательно одобрен на 41-й Конференции ФАО в июне 2019 года.
