Target 2 roadmap

No results found. The Target 2 Roadmap is a global partnership initiative designed to monitor and accelerate progress towards restoring 30 percent of degraded ecosystems by 2030, in line with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Led by FAO, as custodian of the headline indicator on area under restoration, and developed in collaboration with the CBD Secretariat, SER, CIFOR-ICRAF, and other partners, the Roadmap provides methodologies, guidance, and a strategic framework for coordinated implementation through COP16 and beyond. Endorsed by the CBD Conference of the Parties at its sixteenth meeting (Decision 16/35) and launched at SBSTTA-27 in October 2025, it serves as a platform to align efforts, scale up restoration monitoring, and build national capacity. As part of the UK-funded AIM4NatuRe initiative, the Roadmap supports CBD Parties in monitoring and reporting on restoration progress through inclusive engagement with technical partners, Indigenous Peoples, and civil society in co-developing tools, datasets, and training resources. -
