Synopsis (short abstract) This newsletter contains important news from Q1 and Q2 of this year. Ranging from DG QU’s congratulatory remarks at 2023 Forest Outlook, High-level meeting between FAO and KMI on HIHI, Meeting of ADG/RR Jong-jin Kim and Ulsan Metropolitan City. In addition it also talks about how PLO is supporting FAO’s initiatives and how PLO is engaging with youth, as well as PLO’s engagement with ROK’s stakeholders. PLO has been working hard to raise FAO’s visibility in ROK through various occasions and to strengthening partnerships with International Organizations in ROK as well. Newsletter also talks about PLO’s second year anniversary as it has marked two years of its operation this April.

    The FAO partnership and Liason Office (PLO) in the Republic of Korea (ROK) has been actively engaged in various impactful initiatives. This includes supporting the Blue Transformation initiative, receiving recognition through an exclusive interview on Arirang TV's 'Within the Frame,' and being honoured with the Korea Environmental Award. PLO's commitment extends to supporting broader FAO initiatives, actively engaging with youth, enhancing partnerships with Republic of Korea stakeholders, raising FAO's visibility in the country, and strengthening collaborations with international organizations. These efforts underscore ROK's dedication to addressing global challenges through proactive and collaborative approaches.

    This is the fourth newsletter of FAO PLO in ROK. It contains various events that happened , including DG Qu’s Congratulatory Remarks at RDA 60th Anniversary, Financial Contribution of Ulsan Metropolitan Government for Ukraine Crisis. PLO also heavily engaged with youth as well as promotes FAO to public and raised visibility. In addition, we also participated in supporting FAO's initiatives.

    This is the first newsletter of the FAO PLO in ROK. It contains news on the activities that have been done in the second quarter of 2021. It is divided into five main parts: first is the director's message to the audiences, second and third are the 2021 P4G Seoul Summit-related news. The third is our office's operational launch done last April. Lastly, the newsletter tackles the support FAO PLO in ROK has contributed to the five National Dialogue on Food Systems.
