    The project aimed to conserve in situ and sustainably use global importance agrobiodiversity through the preservation of traditional agricultural systems, the integrated management of resources, and the maintenance of ecosystem services in 13 districts of five regions in southern Peru. The evaluation identified that the project has high relevance at the national level and for grassroots communities but is less evident at the subnational level. It contributed to the establishment of a model of in situ conservation of agrobiodiversity, with the recognition of two new agrobiodiversity zones and a conservation area. The project faced challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, political crises and continuous government turnover. These factors and the implementation model affected the project's execution. The sustainability of the project may be threatened by the potential loss of institutional capacity and memory, and the lack of formal coordination mechanisms of public institutions and guarantees of long-term financing. The recommendations focus on consolidating initiatives for the sustainability of the achieved results, making it vital to create formal coordination mechanisms and implementation plans, and to sensitize the new departmental authorities.
