The Green Climate Fund Handbook for North Macedonia was prepared by the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, under the leadership and guidance of the Cabinet of the Deputy President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs as National Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund (GCF). This technical document was developed in the context of the implementation of the first GCF Readiness and Preparatory Support grant, under the overall coordination of Ms Tania Santivanez, Lead Technical Officer and Ms Carmen Arguello Lopez, FAO GCF Advisor. The document introduces key facts about the Green Climate Fund. It aims to provide guidance to stakeholders engaged in the area of climate change and sustainable development on how to access GCF resources and implement GCF-funded projects in North Macedonia. It is expected that these efforts will contribute to the successful implementation of the Nationally Determined Contributions and to overall achievement of the objective of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change and SDG 13 on Climate Action. -

This leaflet is one of the communication products developed by FAO and the Cabinet of the Deputy President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, in its role as National Designated Authority (NDA) to Green Climate Fund (GCF) in the frames of the country's second project under the GCF Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme - “Strengthening country capacities for climate change adaptation and mitigation and finalization of Country Work Programme for the Republic of North Macedonia”. It aims to raise awareness among key GCF stakeholder groups in the Republic of North Macedonia, including academic institutions, national/local authorities, public and private companies, civil society organizations and other legal persons regarding the accreditation process of the GCF. -

No results found.This document is the yearly update of the FAO analysis, “Climate finance in the agriculture and land use sector – global and regional trends” and includes newly released data for 2020. Climate finance is a fundamental element of the global development agenda and has been accelerating in the past years. FAO analysis identified that between 2000 and 2020 the share of global climate finance in the agriculture and land use sector decreased, passing from an average of 45 percent of the total flows at the beginning of the millennium, to 22 percent in 2020. The total sum of contributions to the agriculture and land use sector between 2000 and 2020 amounted to USD 162 billion, representing 25 percent of the global climate finance flows to all sectors.
