No results found.Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS), is a FAO Programme aiming at conservation, adaptation and development of the agricultural systems, which are outstanding landscapes that combine agricultural biodiversity, resilient ecosystems and a valuable cultural heritage. Located in specific sites around the world, they sustainably provide multiple goods and services, food and livelihood security for millions of small-scale farmers. These ancestral agricultural systems constitute the foundation for contemporary and future agricultural innovations and technologies. This presentation introduce one Japanese GIAHS site as a case study for Nature-Based solution and show how one Japanese GIAHS site has cultivated wasabi by traditional technique, which utilize and take advantage of natural condition that is not suitable for cultivating other crops. -
