    This document is the supplement to the Report of the FAO FishCode- STF/CECAF/FCWC Subregional Workshop on the Improvement of Fishery Information and Data Collection Systems in the West Central Gulf of Guinea Region held in Accra, Ghana, from 26 to 28 June 2007. The country review report contains the information on: (i) general consideration related to fisheries; (ii) structure of the fisheries sector; (iii) fishery policy and management objectives; (iv) status of statistical reportin g; and (v) fishery information and data collection system.

    The Food and agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) carries out regular reviews and assessments of the forestry sector at the national and sub national level. The FAO Project, "Strengthening Country Capacity in Forest Resource Assessment for Sustainable Forest Planning in the Asia Pacific Region (GCP/RAS/162/JPN)", is reviewing the status, planning efforts and databases of forests in South Asian countries. One objective of the project is to produce working papers on each of the Sou th Asian countries. These working papers will provide current information on the forest resources, the eco-socio-political context, forest policy and forest planning processes. The contents of these working papers will differ due to variation in the extent and depth of the information that is available. However, an attempt has been made to provide the maximum conformity among them. These papers are mainly based on published information but creditable unpublished information that is available at the national, regional or sub-national level has also been utilized. FAO welcomes suggestions and information that can improve the utility of these working papers.

    Rice and wheat prices in Kathmandu stabilized at very high levels in recent months, particularly constraining access to markets of low income people. Food security conditions remain severe in spite of the 2010 increased production. Different agencies agree on localized food insecurity and according to WFP some 3.7 million people are at risk of food insecurity. The new constitution, due in May 2011, is critical in order to complete the peace process and achieve the country's political stabi lity for the next general elections in 2012. The Government is providing input subsidies to support producers.
