Through its Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP), FAO promotes agricultural heritage, climate resilience, and rural development via targeted trainings and fieldwork. Biodiversity efforts in the Gediz Basin include bird banding and wildlife rehabilitation, while AI-supported drip irrigation systems are introduced to farmers. In Düzce, women and youth receive training in beekeeping and agrotourism to boost rural economies. Isparta and Afyonkarahisar host value chain development programs for medicinal and aromatic plants. A new initiative encourages the safe reuse of treated wastewater to improve soil health and combat land degradation. Regional collaborations include forestry training in Kazakhstan and climate-resilient wheat production in Azerbaijan. The newsletter concludes with media coverage statistics and a spotlight on Türkiye’s role in regional food system transformation.
