No results found.Le Departement des eaux et forts de la Rpublique centrafricaine comprend un service de vulgarisation de la pisciculture. L'organisation, le fonctionnement et le soutien de ce service sont assurs sous la conduite du personnel FAO et grce divers fonds affects au projet. Au cours des quatre annes prcdentes, le personnel FAO avait mis en oeuvre un plan gnral d'oprations (Miller, 1978) qui a t poursuivi en 1979. En outre, le Service de vulgarisation s'est acquitt de trois fonctions supplmentaires, savoir (1) distribuer des outils du FISE aux pisciculteurs; (2) commencer acqurir des aliments pour poissons de haute qualit; (3) mettre en valeur des sites dtermins de pisctculture er constituant des groupes de pisciculteurs travaillant en coopration. -

No results found.I was assigned to the project fish culture station in , where I worked for two years. My work involved the construction of the fish station, organising the research and production on the station and managing the extension programme. All goals were surpassed. The station, which was more than doubled in area, is now producing over two tons of Tilapia per year. The extension programme, whose goal was one hundred private fish ponds now has 481 private fish ponds.
