    In order for Codex Alimentarius Members to share information on the results of Genetically Modified (GM) food safety assessments, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) maintains an online database entitled “FAO GM Foods Platform. After a number of Platform members globally requested FAO to host an interactive and face-to-face forum for the members to strengthen technical dialogues and discussions on the issues of their limited experience in conducting a GM food safety assessment and regulatory capacity, a global community meeting of the FAO GM Foods Platform was organized from 10 to 13 September 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. These are the technical presentations made during the global meeting by focal/alternative focal points to the Platform, invited experts and meeting organizers during the meeting.

    A recent evaluation by the FAO Office of Evaluation has found that the Food Security Information System (FSIS) project has helped reinforce synergies and broadened professional collaborations among different groups of stakeholders in the Kyrgyz Republic. But the project will require a detailed exit strategy to ensure sustainability of its impact.

    Rethinking our food systems: A guide for multi-stakeholder collaboration 2023

    Multi-stakeholder collaboration is an important process that can serve as a tool and strategy to solve complex issues and problems such as transforming national food systems towards more sustainable outcomes. This guide aims to support stakeholders working at all levels of the food system in the implementation of actions to transform their food systems. Centered on 5 building blocks underpinning successful multi-stakeholder collaboration for food systems transformation, the guide uses these constructions to illustrate ingredients of the process and show the interconnectedness of the steps needed to be successful. The guide also contains two annexes with a list of tools, and assessment questions. Annex 1 highlights a range of tools to support facilitators and participants with deeper guidance on a specific topic. Annex 2 contains a checklist of questions, customized to the content provided under each Building Block, and serves as an ongoing monitoring tool that can be used alongside the recommendations provided.
