No results found.Haïti est un des pays au monde les plus susceptibles aux événements climatiques et, par conséquent, se retrouve particulièrement exposé aux catastrophes naturelles et à l’insécurité alimentaire et économique Dans ce contexte, le Gouvernement d’Haïti a sollicité la FAO pour la préparation d’une proposition de financement à soumettre au Fonds vert pour le climat ( avec pour objectif d’améliorer la capacité d’adaptation et de renforcer la résilience des systèmes côtiers et agricoles du Grand Sud d’Haïti (notamment les départements de Nippes, Sud, Sud Est et Grand’Anse Le FVC exige des informations environnementales, économiques et sociales détaillées et précises dans le cadre de la proposition de projet à soumettre Or, une grande partie de ces informations ne sont pas disponibles dans le Grand Sud et la capacité du pays à préparer une telle proposition pour le FVC est donc limitée Ainsi, dans le cadre du projet TCP/HAI/ 3701 il a été convenu d’appuyer le Ministère de l’environnement MdE et le Ministère de l’agriculture, des ressources naturelles et du développement rural ( dans la préparation d’une proposition de financement à soumettre au FVC. -

This terminal evaluation covers the project "Mainstreaming ecosystem-based approaches to climate-resilient rural livelihoods in vulnerable rural areas through the farmer field school (FFS) methodology", funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The overall performance of the project is moderately satisfactory. The project is relevant in its response to climate change adaptation needs in Senegal. It is coherent in its design and is in phase with the Plan Senegal Emergent (PSE). The evaluation found that the project has contributed to capacity building of institutional actors and farmers organizations on climate change adaptation, resilience and gender equity. Notable results include: capacity building of technicians, relay producers, farmers and agro-pastoralists on good practices of adaptation to climate change, through the field-school approach; the establishment of a climate resilience fund that has allowed to finance micro-projects in rural area; the dissemination of agro-climatic information; trainings on adapted climate change practices at the farmfer field school (FFS) and agropastoral field school (APFS) level.
