No results found.Drought has direct or indirect impacts on all aspects of society, the environment and the economy. This multifaceted nature has implications for managing drought events, particularly in coordinating mitigation efforts. Institutional coordination and communication are vital for drought management as they enable effective collaboration among government agencies, stakeholders and communities. Coordinated efforts facilitate the sharing of information, expertise and resources, leading to more robust risk assessments and drought management plans, improved community engagement, more timely response, and better preparedness for drought events. The report is prepared by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Global Water Partnership (GWP), and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) under the framework of the project “Enabling Activities for Implementing UNCCD COP Drought Decisions” funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and other partners. -

No results found.The mid-term evaluation of the project "Mainstreaming sustainable land development and management” was executed by the Guyana Land Survey Commission (GLSC), implemented by FAO and funded by the Guyana Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+) Investment Fund (GRIF). Overall project effectiveness and efficiency is low: implementation is slow and few outputs and outcomes have been achieved. The main reasons are the poor communication and collaboration between GLSC and FAO, and insufficient delivery of their roles and responsibilities. Recently, improved communication between GLSC and FAO has generated better collaboration. The evaluation made a series of recommendations to improve project delivery during the remainder of the implementation period.

It is divided into sections focusing on matters regarding the workflow, visual identity, content and structure of FAO publications. In addition to FAOSTYLE in six languages, this guidance also includes: "Publishing policy", providing high-level guidance aimed at those involved in the creation or approval of a publishing plan; "Authorship and plagiarism guidelines", outlining the principles and criteria for authorship of FAO publications; "Graphic design guidelines", focusing on the practical application of FAO's visual identity and design standards; “Responsible use of AI in publishing”, covering how to use AI responsibly and ethically when producing a publication; “Open Access policy”, a summary of the policy that encourages the wide use, reproduction and dissemination of the intellectual property that FAO produces; and "Digital publishing", guidance on how to create a digital (HTML) publication.
