No results found.This document contains the proceedings of the training workshop on "Integrating Woodfuel Production into Agroforestry Extension Programmes in Southeast Asia", held in West Java, Indonesia, in April 1995. The workshop was organised in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Agroforestry Network (APAN) of FAO, and the Indonesian Agency for Forestry Research and Development (AFRD). The workshop addressed the integration of woodfuel production into on-going agroforestry practices. Participation cam e from both government and non-government sectors, and related training institutions in the sub-region, in particular China. The training workshop, being the first of its kind in the region, aimed to share knowledge in wood energy and agroforestry among the RWEDP member countries with complimentary input from APAN. Besides giving the background of the training workshop, the report touches upon the issue of woodfuel production and utilization, participatory approaches to agroforestry extension, w oodfuel planning and marketing in the host country. Seven technical and thematic papers on the subject are included in an appendix. -

No results found.The Asia Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association–FAO Expert Workshop on Broad-Based Reporting Requirements on Credit to Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Aquaculture, was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 25–26 November 2024. Twenty-four agriculture credit experts from Cambodia, India, the Philippines and Thailand participated in the workshop. The workshop discussed options for harmonizing reporting on credit extended to agriculture, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture. The experts shared information on their data collection and reporting systems on credit. Innovative systems of credit data collection and processing were presented. The agriculture credit experts worked together on the development of Guidelines on broad-based reporting of credit to agriculture, forestry, fishing and related subsectors. The guidelines encourage financial service providers and business partners to incorporate the United Nations International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) of all economic activities in their credit and investment operations and reporting practices.The guidelines will be multipurpose as they: 1) enhance loan portfolio management, 2) improve general reporting on loans to subsectors of the agriculture sector, 3) contribute to environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting, 4) increase data availability for reporting on the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and 5) facilitate harmonization of regional credit reporting approaches. -

No results found.The national training course on "Woodfuel Production and Marketing in Forest, Agriculture and Tree Production Systems" was organised by the Forest Science Institute of Vietnam (FSIV) in collaboration with RWEDP in April 1996 in Hanoi. The course was a follow-up of the sub-regional training course on woodfuel production held in Indonesia in 1995. The course brought together representatives of energy and forestry agencies to review problems related to the production, marketing and use of biom ass energy in Vietnam. The participants also received guidelines for formulating and implementing wood energy programmes, not only in the energy and forestry sectors, but also in sectors concerned with agriculture and rural development. The report contains English summaries of the papers orginally presented in Vietnamese. They discuss the assessment of wood energy supply and marketing in Vietnam, the use of biomass energy for residential and industrial purposes, and economic aspects.
