2. Narrative

The vessels itinerary was as follows:
Entering Nicaraguan waters on 27 August.
Called San Juan 2 September.
Departing El Salvador waters on 11 September.

During 8 days of work in Nicaraguan waters the vessel steamed abt. 1200 nm and 73 trawl stations were made. One day was spent working in the shallow Golfo de Fonseca with 7 trawl stations. During 4.5 days of work in El Salvador waters the distance steamed was abt. 670 nm and 34 fishing stations were made.

The course tracks and the fishing stations for the whole area is shown in Figure 1. The main survey effort is as previously spent over those parts of the shelf and the slope where the inshore, respectively offshore faunistic communities are distributed. There is, however, some coverage also of the intermediate parts of the shelf. Because some extra time was available before the scheduled call on San Juan on 2 September, the survey intensity off the southeastern parts of Nicaragua is relatively high. Because of paucity of catch rates over the mid part of the El Salvador shelf both in previous surveys and now, priority was given to work along the shelf edge and inshore.

The weather condition were favourable, and did not put any limitation on the work.
