New Barr and Stroud dendrometer. - The model FP-IS is designed to measure tree diameter from I 1/2 to 200 in (3.8 to 508 cm) at any height for the purpose of calculating volume growth and value in standard trees. It has a measuring range of 675 yd (620 m), and can measure verticle angles between plus and minus 60°.

Hydraulic baling press. - Designed for baling industrial waste, the press is equipped with twin double-acting hydraulic press cylinders, with the press platen hinged to the rams. The top section is permanently fixed and the movement of the press platen is controlled by a spring-loaded lever which returns to the neutral position when released. The compressed bale can be secured by passing wire or strapping through special grooves in the press platen. The SP20M model produces a bale measuring approximately 20 by 40 in (50 by 100 cm).

Injector hatchet. - When the injector hatchet is struck against a tree, a premetered amount of chemical cal is injected into the sap stream of the tree. The number of times a tree is struck is dependent on its diameter at breast height. Approximately three chops will inject enough chemical to kill a 6-inch diameter conifer or hardwood during the growing season.
The silvicide Silvisar 510 Tree Killer is effective on most conifers and hardwoods.

Brush burner.-The model HDB heavy duty brush burner supplies air and fuel in measured quantities to speed through burning of brush and debris. A 12.5 hp engine turns an aeroplane-type propeller at 2 750 rpm to produce an airflow of up to 80 000 ft³ (2 250 m³) per minute. A cone-shaped shroud funnels and directs, the air at 56 mph (90 kph) to the heart of the fire. The burner is mounted on a swivel plate that permits a 360° rotation. The cone funnel can also be tilted up or down 300 from the horizontal. Mounted on a trailer, the burner is easily transported on the job and between jobs.

Load aligner. - Two steel drums are mounted by means of hinged arms in such a manner that; they may be displaced outward and upward to permit the passage of bolts in excess of 130 in (260 cm). After passage of such an overlength bolt the drums return to the gauge width by virtue of their own weight.
