Experience: Present position since 1998; 1990-1998: Professor and Director, Institute of Agronomy in the Tropics, Georg-August University, Goettingen, Germany; 1986-90: Director, IFDC Africa, Togo. Established a new centre for fertilizer development to serve sub-Saharan Africa with headquarters in Togo; 1976-86: Scientist (1976-83), and Director, Agro-Economic Division (1983-86), IFDC. Developed and periodically reviewed research programmes on fertilizer in the areas of soil science, economics, sociology, and related disciplines, and planned and supervised research projects developed on the basis of these programmes.
