The Committee received a brief oral report on the present situation of the elaboration of the Draft Code of Hygienic Practice for Bottled/Packaged Drinking Waters (Other than Natural Mineral Water) by the Codex Committee on Food Hygiene[1]. The Committee noted that the Draft Code would soon be circulated to Member governments and international organizations for comments and information, especially on the incomplete sections.
4. The Committee was also informed that the Codex Committee on Food Additives and Contaminants at its 30th Session agreed to append to its report Section 3.2 (Health-Related Limits for Certain Substances) of the Codex Standard for Natural Mineral Waters, which had been adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission at its 22nd Session (June 1997). Comment on this section was being sought by CL 1998/11-FAC.[2]
