Brief description of institution/organization The
Water and Environment Research and Study Centre (WERSC) was established at the
University of Jordan in 1982 to contribute to the national efforts to solve
Jordan's severe water scarcity problems. The Centre plays a leading role in
developing and implementing national plans to develop and manage Jordan's water
resources. The research and training activities of the Centre are directed to
irrigation management, wastewater treatment and reuse in irrigation, hydrology,
water conservation in arid areas, water quality, water harvesting and artificial
recharge. The Laboratories at the Centre are equipped with sophisticated
equipment to carry out water quality and soil analysis. |
