Programme prospectus
Coupled with the international
business school standards, Mananga Centre has developed an appropriate course on
small-scale irrigation management. Participants will have a thorough knowledge
of the latest technical aspects of irrigation management and recent ideas in
general management concepts. Their ability to analyse situations and identify
workable solutions to their problems will be enhanced and they will handle their
jobs with the confidence that comes with being effective.
The course programme coverage includes: irrigation
technologies, implications of technology choice, irrigation system design,
irrigation system operation, determining crop water requirements, choosing water
application systems, irrigation scheduling, water control and allocation and
other issues related to irrigation water management. Field trips and discussions
with practising irrigation managers and farmers are included.
