Programme's main focus Fostering of institutional
capacity building. Enhancement of the capabilities of water
professionals.
Programme prospectus The group provides tailor-made
training for professionals (predominately middle to senior level professional
and research staff from relevant government agencies, research institutes, NGOs
and the public and private sectors).
Training is based on one-to-one tutorials and attendance at
relevant postgraduate seminars, directed reading and field trips, if
appropriate. Training inevitably provides the individual with access to
up-to-date developments in their field and access to the facilities of a first
class university to achieve the maximum success possible in their field of
study.

Brief description of institution/organization The
Overseas Development Group (ODG) is a charitable company wholly owned by the
University of East Anglia (UEA). The Group manages the research, training and
consultancy activities undertaken by the faculty members of the University's
School of Development Studies (DEV), one of the UK's premier teaching and
research institutions in development studies.
The Group also works extensively with research associates,
consultants, other UEA schools and departments, e.g. economic and social
studies, health, environment, education and many outside professional
organizations.
Since ODG was founded in 1967, a major contribution to the
training of development professionals through a programme of scheduled short
courses in the UK, tailor-made training programmes for groups and individuals
and specialized training outside the UK have been made. |
