The Course curriculum includes
present practices of canal operation, necessity of modern US/DS controls,
improved water level control using weirs combination control and dynamic
regulation, computer applications, socio-economic aspects, linkages with
operation and maintenance towards modern controls.
The course uses a step-by-step approach. The training course
will benefit Executive Engineers to Junior Engineers of Irrigation at the
Department of Maharashtra State.

Brief description of institution/organization
Water
and Land Management Institute (WALMI, Aurangabad) is a premier in-service
training institute in irrigation and water management. The Institute was
established as an autonomous registered society and a first institute in India
by the Irrigation Department, Government of Maharashtra with the financial
support of the World Bank and USAID.
The institute provides in-service training in irrigation water
management for the officers of the Irrigation and Agriculture Department,
Government of Maharashtra and to the farmers in the state. It also conducts
National and International Programmes in irrigation water management sponsored
by different donor agencies. Other activities include the Action Research
Programme and Consultancy Services in the field of irrigation water management
to the different stakeholders. |
