Governments and International Organizations are invited to comment on the proposed draft Standard at Step 5 of the Procedure for the Elaboration of Codex Standards Including Consideration of Any Statements Relating to Economic Impact (Codex Alimentarius Procedural Manual, Tenth Edition, pp. 24-25) and should do so in writing to the Chief, Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programme, FAO, Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, 00100 Rome, Italy (fax: +39 06 5705 4593; e-mail: [email protected]), not later than 1 April 1999.

5. Proposed Draft Revised Standard for Infant Formula at Step 3 (ALINORM 99/26, paras 106 and Appendix V)
Governments are invited to comment on the proposed draft Standard especially on parts which are left in square brackets and should do so in writing to the Chief, Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programme, FAO, Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, 00100 Rome, Italy (fax, +39 06 5705 4593; e-mail, [email protected]), not later than 1 April 1999.
6. VITAMINC FORTIFICATION (ALINORM 99/26 para. 7-8)
While considering Vitamin C Fortification issue the Committee took note that there might be a need for a review of the General Principles for the Addition of Essential Nutrients for Foods (CAC/GL 09-1987) in order to address the issue of fortification in commodity standards.
