7. CONCLUSION

Forest genetic resources have an irreplaceable value in Namibia, in terms of both economic and social services that they provide. However, the need for sustainable management and utilization of these important resources cannot be over-emphasized. Efforts toward achieving sustainable use should firstly be embraced and secondly co-ordinated at both local, regional and international levels. It is also a crucial need to pursue more work on the valuation of these resources to improve their current contribution and hence their recognition.
